  • Rather than putting on weight from eating celery you actually lose it, you burn more calories from the chewing than you put on from the food itself.

  • Sound travels 4 times faster in water than it does through air.

  • Cranberries can be tested for ripeness by bouncing them, if they are ripe they should have a bouncing quality.

  • Travelling at 80 kilometres per hour, a car uses half its fuel to overcome wind resistance.

  • The largest living structure on Earth is the Great Barrier Reef. Found in Australia, it is over 2000 kilometres long.

  • The QWERTY keyboard layout used on most computers was invented way back in the 1860's.

Influenza A virus subtype H1N1, also known as A(H1N1), is a subtype of Influenza Virus A and the most common cause of Influenza (flu) in humans. Some strains of H1N1 are endemic in humans and cause a small fraction of all influenza-like sickness and a large fraction of all seasonal influenza. H1N1 strains caused roughly half of all human flu infections in 2006. Other strains of H1N1 are endemic in pigs (swine influenza) and in birds (avian influenza). In June 2009, WHO declared that flu due to a new strain of swine-origin H1N1 was responsible for the 2009 flu pandemic. This strain is commonly called "swine flu".

The common symptoms of this virus are fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. A significant number of people who have been infected with this virus also have reported diarrhea and vomiting. Also, like seasonal flu, severe illnesses and death has occurred as a result of illness associated with this virus.

Ways to prevent this virus:

1. Keep antibacterial wipes in your pocket or bag.

2. Maintain a balanced diet.

3. Always make sure to wash your hands properly.

4. As much as possible, provide vaccinations to keep yourself protected.

Be safe everyone!!!!

Today, we participated in the city-wide road clean-up (supposedly Coastal Clean-up). We were assigned to clean the area near BSM and the on-going Gaisano. We cleaned a lot and experienced new things such as cleaning under the heat of the very hot sun!!! well, inspite all of that, we still helped in saving mother Earth from destruction.

Aside from that, after cleaning, we went to my classmate's house to make designs for our bulletin board. While doing our task, we watched videos of SUJU and Farenheit. They are all so adorable!!!
We must support them!!! XD

Super Junior often referred to as SJ or SuJu , is a boy band from Seoul, South Korea that was formed under SM Entertainment in 2005. With a total of thirteen members, they are the largest boy band in the world. The members are Leetuk (the leader), HeeChul , Han Geng, Yesung, Kang-in, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, Kibum, and later Kyuhyun. Kim Bum, as we all know, plays the part of Yi Jung, the playboy of the F4 from the Koreanovela "Boys over Flowers". I believe that Kim Bum is most handsome from the four of them. He is a potter in the movie and is still in love with his childhood friend until he developed an interest for Ga-Eul, Jan-Di's bestfriend.

Kim Bum is a South Korean Actor who appeared in many Korean Movies but is most well-known for his role in BOF. He also appeared in a famous commercial with Kim So-Eun "Anycall Bodyguard".

I hope you like him too!!! :D

The newest movie addicted by Filipinos is the Korean version of Hana Yori Dango and Meteor Garden: Boys Over Flowers. This koreanovela has the same plot with the forementioned telenovelas. Though there are some differences, you can definitely say that this something that you can call as a sequel for the two telenovelas.

Boys over flowers is a Korean adaptation from the Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango. Starring
Lee Min-Ho, Kim Hyun-Joong, Kim Bum and Kim Joon as the famous F4, Koo Hye-Sun as Jan-Di and Kim So-Eun as Ga Eul.
Lee Min-Ho plays the part of Gu Jun Pyo, the successor of Shinwa Group and develops a lasting love to a laundry girl, Guem Jan Di. Jan-Di is a poor girl who came to Shinwa University and develops a first love to Ji-Hoo, but eventually, learns to love Gu Jun Pyo. Ga Eul is Jan-Di's bestfriend and likes Yi Jung, a playboy from the F4.

Throughout the story, they will all encounter challenges but still, because they have each other, they will eventually surpass challenges and obstacles. The story will end with Gu Jun Pyo proposing to Jan-Di as his soon-to-be wife.

Enjoy watching this Koreanovela in this link: http://www.mysoju.com/

Maybe you are thinking about disabled children when you read "Special School". But no, I don't mean a school for the disabled children but a school for the special children- highly gifted. Currently, I am studying in a special school, Science and Technology Education Center. This is a school for children who is described as "bright".

I am not boasting but this school is really different from others. And let me tell you, this school is a public school supported by the government. But it has a big difference from other public schools. Public schools usually carry 8 subjects. But in STEC, we have 10 subjects. Public schools end their class at 4:30 pm. But STEC ends at 6:00 pm.

What's more special in this school? Teachers in STEC focus in training the students to talk in front of many people and develop confidence. This school is also very advance in their lessons. Students who graduate from this school usually takes college an easy level. Since STEC has already trained them to cope up with lessons that are very advance in each level, alumnae comments on college as "chicken".

The training in this school is very intense. With homeworks everyday, projects to be passed on deadlines and groupworks to be presented, students can also consider Saturday as a classday. In order to stay in this school, you must maintain at least an 85 average grade at the end of the schoolyear.
